One night after dinner
in their home at the North Pole,
Mrs. Claus had an idea
to help rest a tired soul.

"Let's plan our vacation"
she told Santa with a smile.
" It's been one year since we had one
and that's been quite a while."

Each year after Christmas
after all the work was done,
It was time for a vacation
to relax and have some fun.
.

Even when they dress warm
it just gets real cold up there.
So they wanted their vacation
to have lots of sun somewhere.

"I know a place" said Santa,
" and I know just what to do.
I'll buy some airplane tickets
to the Island of BooKoo."

The reindeer and the elves had fun,
they took vacation, too,
But did not go with Santa
to the Island of BooKoo.

Instead they chose to stay home
to relax and watch t.v.
They liked to do that sometimes
just the same as you and me.



Because they're on vacation
they're allowed to stay up late.
But they still put on their jammies
by a quarter after 8.
Then they popped a pot of elfcorn,
got some soda from the store,
And watched cartoons and giggled
while they all sat on the floor.

But the Clauses took the airplane
which they really liked to do,
And they flew it all around the world
to the Island of BooKoo.
Though it's a tiny Island
there are lots of things to do.
They had beaches and the mountains
and they even had a zoo.

The big zoo that they had there
was a real strange one, I mean,
They had animals that lived there
most of us have never seen..
There were beautiful pink monkeys
and a really weird kampoo.
All the animals are friendly
on the Island of BooKoo.

And Santa loved to pet them
and to sometimes ride them, too.
You see everything is perfect
on the Island of BooKoo.
Sometimes to be funny
Santa let them take a ride.
And one time a big poobus
knocked him over on his side

The food on old BooKoo, they say
is also a rare treat.
And anyone who goes there
has much more than they can eat.
In the restaurant they liked to eat
the special Island food,
And their favorite thing to order
was a cho-co-late Lamood..

Peanut butter noodles
with grape jelly on the top,
Santa liked them so much
it was hard for him to stop
Now Mrs. Claus, she also liked
the food that they had there.
And she really loved the hot tots
and the co-co-nut eclair.

Sometimes they just spent the day
relaxing at the beach,
And sipping a cold BooKoo Pop
which was always within reach.

It's good to take vacation
but it's good to come home, too.
And although it was a good time
it was time to leave BooKoo.

So each one packed their suitcase,
to go home was their main goal.
And they caught the first fast airplane
to their home at the North Pole.

When they walked in through the door at home
there was a great big cheer.
And everyone was waiting,
they were happy they were here.

They knew how much they loved home
as they walked in through the door.
But by being away and coming back
they loved it even more.
